So this is my entry for the Okami contest. I decided to do something a little different and create a whole new protagonist and cast of characters. Think of this as an 'original sequel' to the first Okami game
Description (Warning: very long and rambing =_= I put too much thought into this):
This time, the main character is Tsukiyomi, the moon god and brother of Amaterasu. Once again, the world finds itself in peril, but Amaterasu is suddenly captured by the enemy! Thus, without the sun, the earth succumbs to an eternal night across the land. Mankind's only hope is the moon deity Tsukiyomi, who is more than a little reluctant to rescue his estranged sister.
Along with utilising the Celestial Brushes, Tsukiyomi's powers also include transforming between two forms: Light and Dark. In his Light form, he is able to paint light into darkened areas and reveal demons hidden in the shadows. In his Dark form, he is able to wield great power to combat enemies. As Tsukiyomi journeys across the land, he encounters many allies willing to help save Amaterasu, including (from bottem left to top right): The Toad Witch, The Mochi Rabbit Twin, the Ox King, Big Hana and Little Hana. With their help, he is able to free Amaterasu, defeat the evil forces, and restore light back to the lands!
This is absolutely gorgeous! I really like the colouring, composition and your original character designs!
I only wish the roofs of the buildings were blue (like that castle in Kyoto?). I know you are trying to go for a complementary colour scheme, but right now the warm colour there just makes them a bit boring. XP
Thank you! Yea, I was going for more neutral tones in this pic, like traditional Chinese or Japanese paintings XP Guess a little *too* neutral, huh? Then again, I never really had very good colour sense, lol
We want to know what love means to you!
Get your creative juices flowing and design a movie poster for "Paper Heart" that focuses on the theme "What Does Love Mean to Me?".
In response to new features: The dA community stands up to preserve itself and deviously denies further separation between general members and subscribers. Gift givers express dislike for violation of their privacy.
The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
